My little girl, my one and only child, is turning 9 this month. Where has the time gone? Lucky for me she still likes girly stuff, but I've found I need to make some of her things more "grown-up". For example, for her birthday party she is inviting her 4 best friends over for a sleepover with a fairy theme - fairy tea party, fairy hunt at dusk with cameras, fairy jewelry making, etc. So instead of the normal little girl invitations I used to make, I have had to make some big girl, pre-teen sensation invitations.
So here you are, a couple of the invitations I made for my daughter's 9th birthday party incorporating my scrapbook hobby. Each one was a little different. These scans don't show the shimmer and subtle sparkles, but you get the idea. The quote reads "Come fairies, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame" - William Butler Yeats. I'm a sucker for good quotes, and I love Yeats. I am super weird about safety, so I've blurred some of the info - there's no need to rush to the eye doctor.
