Freedom is Not Free

There is a price we pay for freedom
For it is not truly free
But rather paid for by the contributions of veterans
To buy our liberty

As their blood drains from their body and runs like a river through the grass
Over the years it's forgotten, war is placed in our past
I don't think we all realize the importance veterans play
as they voluntarily serve America each and every day

We should honor the veterans for they act like a shield
Protecting us from danger, keeping America healed.
So if you would take a second to commemorate
You will instantly see
We owe veterans our gratitude
For they are the reason we are free

And the Winner Is...

I've been very busy lately. I am in the home stretch of finishing my website. I had put it on hold because I was going to a huge event last month and spent all my time making sure I had enough products. Now I am trying to finish writing all of the descriptions and taking the photos. Quite frankly, I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and when I am not satisfied, I end up redoing things (mainly the photos).

In the meantime, I posted my soaps and a bunch of gift sets on Etsy and Artfire with the not so perfect photos. I have a ton of other things to put up, but as always, I have a lot going on. In addition, I need to get cracking on my articles for the Jan/Feb Saponifier. The due date is coming up and I haven't started. I will say, I already know what I am doing, which is half the battle. Once I know what subjects I will write about, I have to get my brain in writing mode, then I hammer them out in one evening.

Enough of my droning on about mundane work projects. We have a winner to talk about...

Remember the "Dirty Little Secret" Contest, in which people revealed strange, little known facts about themselves, mine being I want a sheep farm? Well, odds were great for this contest as only a couple people posted. To top things off, only one revealed a secret, so it was very easy to pick a winner. Regardless, I enjoyed this little known fact and probably would have selected it out of many comments:

"My dirty little secret? Wow, I have so many, but I love to polish my nails with 2-3 coats (clear, colored, doesn't matter...) then once it dries, I peel it all off. If it doesn't come off in one peel, then I start all over. Yeah, I'm slightly obsessive and anal about it..."
