While Mintel predicted 6 different flavor trends for this year, they only came up with two scent trends. One is clean and clear. The prediction is for single scent products or a fresh and simple fragrance. The other is mood altering scents. Like last year, people want to escape the day to day rigor in life. They predict that people will choose scents that make them feel better or take them to other places - maybe a pina colada for tropic lovers or lotus flowers for those preferring the orient. I'm sure you talented folks can come up with lots of ideas.

Another prevalent trend is to buy locally by handmade artists and crafts people. People may not be able to afford more expensive items, but still want indulgences. They will seek out more inexpensive but luxury items, like bath products and candles. Despite the economy, this is a great time to be in this business if you market yourself right and pay attention to your target market.
