CPSC Just Peachy Soap Reveal & Tutorial
Finally posting my week 1 Color Palette Soap Challenge - Just Peachy. I was going to make something that looked more like a flower, but when the soap became uncooperative, I quit while I was ahead and made a round swirl flower (or as my husband says, Trufula flower. It's not exactly a tree.) To kill 2 birds with one stone (gosh that sounds mean), I used clays and placed my image on Bramble Berry's Make It Monday Challenge, click here. I used clays for the colors and scented it with Apricot Freesia. It was much more vibrant in the mold, but I like the soft colors. This is very simple to make. 
First prep your colorants. I used French red clay and French green clay and placed them each in a plastic squirt bottle. Make your soap. At light trace, place about 1/2 cup of soap into each of 3 squirt bottles - green clay, red clay, and nothing for cream - and shake to distribute color.
Add pink Kaolin clay and Apricot Freesia scent to the rest of the soap and place into a slab mold with dividers.
Using the cream bottle, Add a dollop of soap near the top of each bar about the size of a quarter or $1 coin.
Using the red bottle add a small dot to the center of the cream on each bar.
Take a skewer stick, or some other skinny object, and poke it into the center of the red and swirl in a spiral outwards.
Using the green bottle, 'draw' a stem and sepal (the base of the flower).
And there you have it - a 'Truffula flower'.
